PERAN BAHASA ARAB SEBAGAI ALAT PENDIDIKAN DALAM PROSES PEMBELAJARAN: STUDI KASUS DI MTS AL-AZHAR MENGANTI GRESIK

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Arabic as an educational tool in the learning process at MTs Al-Azhar Menganti Gresik, a pesantren-based institution that emphasizes the culture of bi’ah lughawiyah. Although numerous studies discuss Arabic learning in both schools and pesantren, there is still limited research that specifically highlights the use of Arabic as an educational tool integrated between formal classroom settings and institutional habituation programs such as daily tazwid al-mufradat. Therefore, this study fills that gap through a qualitative case study approach involving observation, documentation, and the direct experiences of Arabic language educators. The findings indicate that the consistent use of Arabic as classroom instruction, a means of communication, and a tool for shaping the learning environment enhances students’ vocabulary mastery, comprehension of learning materials, and communicative responses. The daily bi’ah lughawiyah program further strengthens students’ interest and readiness to use Arabic naturally. Despite challenges such as varying levels of initial student ability, the results affirm the significant contribution of Arabic as an educational tool in improving the overall quality of the learning process.
