This study aims to analyze the key concepts in Arabic morphology (ṣarf), namely wazan, derivation (ishtiqāq), and word-form changes (taṣrīf), which serve as essential foundations for understanding the internal structure of words in the Arabic language. Employing a descriptive-analytical method, this research examines both classical and contemporary literature and connects these discussions to developments in modern linguistics, particularly computational linguistics and digital-based Arabic language learning. The findings indicate that a solid understanding of the wazan and derivational systems not only facilitates the analysis of word forms and meanings but also contributes to the advancement of Arabic language technologies, such as automatic morphological processing and the expansion of modern vocabulary. Furthermore, taṣrīf is shown to play a significant role in interpreting classical texts and supporting more effective Arabic language instruction. Thus, this study underscores the importance of integrating traditional theories of ṣarf with contemporary applications to enhance the quality of Arabic language education and technological development.
