POLA PEMBINAAN UMI ASRAMA DALAM PENGUATAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER SANTRI DI PONDOK PESANTREN DINIYYAH PUTRI LAMPUNG

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the role of Umi Asrama in fostering students’ character as part of strengthening character education through the Umi Asrama mentoring pattern at Pondok Pesantren Diniyyah Putri Lampung. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with research subjects consisting of Umi Asrama, students (santri), and pesantren administrators. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that Umi Asrama plays a very significant role in students’ character development, serving as educators, mentors, supervisors, and role models in dormitory life. The character development pattern implemented includes the habituation of religious practices, discipline, responsibility, independence, and the internalization of moral values through exemplary behavior and an educative approach. Character development through the role of Umi Asrama contributes positively to strengthening students’ character education, as reflected in their religious attitudes, discipline, social awareness, and behavior in accordance with Islamic values. Therefore, the Umi Asrama mentoring pattern is effective in supporting the strengthening of character education within the environment of Pondok Pesantren Diniyyah Putri Lampung.
